MINUTES OF THE VISTA MASONIC CLUB MONDAY - 5 MARCH 1945
This meeting was called by the Worshipful Master and Secretary for the purpose of making arrangements for the night of Institution to be held on Tuesday, March 6th 1945 at 8 PM, and to terminate the affairs of the Vista Masonic Club. There were present Brothers. A. D. Hitchcock, President; Louis Castellani, Vice President; E. J. Kleinsmith, Secretary/Treasurer; 29 Club members and 12 visiting Brethren as shown by the SecretaryÆs Roster, and the meeting was opened in the regular form by the President by rendering the salute to the Flag of our Country followed by singing one verse of America.
Bills and communications were disposed of, the report of the sick committee was heard and ordered filed.
Committees were appointed to secure chairs from other organizations, and a greeting committee was appointed. The matter of Tiling the Lodge Room was taken up, and the Worshipful Master appointed Brother. E. J. Kleinsmith to take to himself suitable assistants and tile the Lodge.
Bro. Griffith H. Griffith arose at this time and stated that this was as it should be, a meeting and time for much rejoicing, but to him it was a time of sadness for said he, as he glanced around the room he could only see 2 other Masons who had been organizers of the Vista Masonic Club in 1928. They were Bro. Ed Hobard and Bro. W. C. Bissinger. He reminisced a little of the past, recalling some of the good old days. He also told of the trials and hardships of the Club and now, after 17 years, Vista was about to have what this Club started out to accomplish, namely a Masonic Lodge. He said he was glad to see this take place, and glad that he could have a part in its Organization. He said that although the Club, as a Club, would go out of existence as such, he would like to have the records and papers with the files placed into the care of the new Lodge. Whereupon Bro. Griffith moved, and Bro. Bissinger seconded, that all files, books, minutes and records of the Club be turned over to Secretary E. J. Kleinsmith, and placed in the Archives of the new Lodge. Motion carried.
Presenting and retiring the Flag of our Country was practiced, followed by singing of America and meeting was adjourned.
